Try the following, and watch for the changes:

  • Be involved in your business: staff often enjoy working for someone who cares and interacts with them. This is also a great way to establish the culture and mission of your business.
  • Reward hard work, even for reaching small goals: there’s really no point in waiting until the Christmas bonus, because that dose of motivation won’t keep anyone going for an entire year.
  • And finally, it’s simple, but often ignored: say thank you!
