Google tracks employees likely to quit

If you want to quit your job, you better run it past Google first, as they have apparently developed an algorithm to identify which employees are likely to quit their job.

According to US newspaper The Journal, the search engine giant has developed a mathematical formula to “get inside people’s heads even before they know they might leave,” says Google human resources personnel Laszlo Bock.

Google examined data from employee reviews and promotion and pay histories to try to identify which of its 20,000 employees were most likely to leave the Mountain View, California-based company.

Google officials have been reluctant to share details of the formula, which is still being tested, but have already been able to identify employees who feel underused, and therefore would be contemplating leaving their job.
