Small business will prop up global economy

The theme for the 2009 International Small Business Congress (ISBC) will be ‘Rebuilding the World’s Economy’, capturing the idea that global economic recovery will come from the efforts of a number of small businesses engaging with each other at a local and international level.

The congress will cover everything from innovation to regulation, young entrepreneurs to indigenous businesses, and capital raising to intellectual property and the green revolution.

“The ISBC aims to bring together policy-makers and practitioners in the small to medium business sector, from around the globe,” said Richard Brooks, congress chairperson.

He expects delegates from more than 60 countries, including representatives from small businesses, trade associations, academia, government, and business support organisations, to attend.
