  • Trevor gets mail

    Consumer-Cat4

My friend Nate introduced me to his friend Chris, who has a cat called Trevor. Trevor isn’t really Chris’ cat in the traditional sense. He’s more Chris’ cat in the “visits when hungry, bored or wants to lie in the sun on the deck” kind of way.

  • Show me the pain!

Me and my mate Michelle were amongst the 10,000 odd folk who took part in the HBF Run for a Reason in Perth on Sunday. Kudos to HBF on a great event, by the way. It WAS actually fun and I know for the fact that if it wasn’t for the intermittent Samba bands and school girl cheer leaders along the route I for one wouldn’t have made it.

  • Leave ‘em behind baby, leave ‘em behind..

I don’t generally deal in the currency of regret. I struggle to think of any other emotional pastime more useless, futile and unproductive. Unless you count the 12 months I spent longing, no pining for Inter Milan super hero Nicola Berti after a stint living in Italy during the early 90’s.

  • My horse saved my life…

I am one of those people who finds it a little hard to wind down. I’m a pretty driven person – a lot of us in business are. But you COULD say I’ve been known to be more tightly coiled than the springs under John Candy’s bed. I know it’s a bad visual, but I needed to make a point.

  • Your treasurer is quite a character…

Back to the ex treasurer, Mr Buswell. It is bad enough that we have to bring up the old episode of what he did to that chair (still can’t bring myself to type it or say it) but the whole episode has been like seeing a dead animal on the side of the road. Once you notice it’s there, you can’t turn away…you almost feel compelled to check out how it died, and how badly.

  • Attitude is EVERYTHING

I write to you from sunny Broome, one of my favourite places on the planet. I’m here with the lovely and talented Lauren Thomson Gorton (follower her on Twitter @L_T_Gorton…she’s a hoot!)We’re on a semi-secret squirrel mission. Semi secret in that I’m telling you that we’re here. ..But again, I digress.

  • Forget trust games, try an office flood.

    Perth-Flood2

There’s a saying in our industry that a good crisis should never be wasted. I like it because I think it’s true. There is always something to learn from surviving what I’d like to describe as a dead set poo-shower . Can I say poo-shower on a family show? Too late…

  • The crash you can’t stop

    default image

So on Saturday, I was heading to a lunch date when I was cleaned up on the driver’s side by a bloke coming out of a car park into traffic. He just didn’t see me. But I saw him. Oh man did I see him. In what seemed like a split second before he cleaned me, up I saw him coming and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
