The Council of Small Business Organisations of Australia (COSBOA), the nation’s peak representative body for small business, have announced their new CEO, Ms Jaye Radisich.

Ms Radisich is a former member of the Western Australian Parliament, and was the youngest women ever to be elected to WA’s Parliament.

Newly elected chairman Richard Brooks said that COSBOA is thrilled to have such an experienced CEO to lead the Council into the future and ensure that the voice of small business is not lost in these challenging economic times.

“Jaye has the determination and the innovative outlook we need to help us ride out this economic crisis. There is no doubt Jaye knows Government inside out and her track record combined with her experience as an advocate shows she’ll be ideally suited to this new role supporting small business.”

COSBOA will work closely with the Federal Minister for Small Business, Hon Craig Emerson MP to discuss options on how to promote jobs growth and ensure training commitments can be met and maintained by small businesses.

Ms Radisich said, “Australia cannot afford the potential of job losses throughout small businesses, the biggest private sector employer in the country. We will work with the Federal Government to find ways to support small business, just as big business has been supported during the global financial crisis.”
