Sage My Business online accounting launched for small business

Sage Software Australia has launched Sage My Business, a cloud-based, hosted accounting package designed for small-to-medium-sized businesses.

Sage My Business enables organisations to track sales, inventory, customers, suppliers, cash movements as well as monitor stock levels and create financial reports all though an Internet browser. The solution is also mobile with Sage My Business currently available as an iPhone app.

Sage My Business also facilitates the preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and reconciles bank accounts while users can view customers’ sales histories and contact details.  Interactive reporting enables companies to track business progress at their own moment of need.

Michael Smith, General Manager, Sage My Business, says, “Sage My Business has been developed after many years of our working in the SMB market.  Previously, many companies have purchased accounting software packages but have failed to use 80 per cent of their features.  Sage My Business takes into account what SMBs actually want and need to effectively run their business and comes complete with a flexible pricing strategy.”

Sage My Business is priced at $25 per month or $270 per year which puts it on level footing against MYOB LiveAccounts online accounting package.  This provides a license for up to two users at two different companies with the option to upgrade the number of users and companies.  Included in the monthly fee is unlimited email product support and full data security and daily backup. Backups are stored for up to two weeks and data is stored in two alternative locations, including in a managed hosted environment at a secure physical location in Sydney.

“Online accounting software enables small businesses to enhance the careful control of their business finances which is core to the winning formula of any successful business.  At the same time, Sage My Business enables users to view customers’ sales histories and contact details and write notes while on the road.  Accountants also become productive as they can check accounts without having to travel to a customer’s premises by simply logging onto the system,” says Smith.
