No more telemarketers
More than 20,000 people requested to be left alone by telemarketers on the first day of registrations for Do Not Call Register.
Launched by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), the register became active on May 31, making it illegal for telemarketers to call anyone from the register after this date.
Telemarketing are now able to submit their calling lists to the register for checking against it.
