More employees using online pay tool

More employees are using the Fair Work Ombudsman’s self-help online pay tool, according to a media release from the independent statutory office.

The FWO has reported that PayCheck Plus has seen almost 900,000 visits this year alone. The record visits point to a rise of almost 23 per cent in the nine months to the end of September, compared to the same period last year.

PayCheck Plus enables employers to calculate the wages and penalty rates for employees, a tool that Fair Work Ombudsman Executive Director Michael Clark says is allowing Infoline advisors to prioritise more freely.

“Many employers and employees obviously now prefer to use the website to get the information they need on wages and conditions,” he said.

“This shift is allowing our Infoline advisers to focus on more complex telephone inquiries and to prioritise calls from small business.”

The FWO recently unveiled My account, which enables users to make enquiries online for priority support, save pay rates from PayCheck Plus, save awards and searches from Award Finder and save favourite pages from the website to read or refer to later.

The FWO says that it receives 10 million visits a year, 25 per cent of them via mobile devices.
