Aldi tops consumer satisfaction list

Aldi tops consumer satisfaction list
German discount supermarket chain Aldi, is quickly proving itself to be a favourite with shoppers, topping the Australian consumer satisfaction rankings for supermarkets during the month of October 2009.
The Roy Morgan Supermarket Satisfaction report shows that supermarket chain, Aldi, gained a 2.2 percent point increase from last month, equating to a satisfaction of 9 out of 10 customers for a total rating of 91 percent satisfaction.
Woolworths and Coles both recorded positive movement to sit at 86 percent and 85.8 percent satisfaction, while IGA fell one percentage point to 86.4 percent.
Roy Morgan’s industry communications director, Norman Morris said that the results have put Aldi back in a strong position above the rest of the main supermarket players.
“It is quite evident that Aldi are still doing something that other supermarkets are not,” he said.
He attributed the supermarket chain’s success and increase ranking to recent television advertising and an increased general merchandising offering.
