Aussie women working longer hours: survey
Australian women are working longer hours in the downturn, according to a new Westpac Banking Corp survey.
The survey of 1,006 business women found that 50 percent were either working longer hours, or had returned from maternity leave early.
In addition to working longer hours, 80 percent were cutting back on their spending, particularly on themselves, in order to provide for their families.
According to Westpac head of Women’s Markets, Larke Riemer, women were doing it tough in the downturn.
“Women are juggling increased workloads with the everyday pressure of maintaining family life,” she said.
