Australian team develops first iPhone taxi booking app

iPhone users in Australia can now book a taxi using their mobile phone, with the launch of the first Australian taxi booking app.

Combined Communications Network has launched mTaxi (full version) and mTaxi Lite (reduced features), allowing people to book a taxi in Sydney or Newcastle.

It is the first taxi booking app developed in Australia by an Australian team. The app allows users to store their details, pre book a service, and has a geo location tool to identify where the user is so the taxi knows how to find them.

It is available for download from the Apple iTunes website.

The app works for Sydney and Melbourne bookings and unlike other iPhone taxi booking apps, TaxiPronto is independent from the taxi companies.
