Bendigo Bank has today launched what they claim to be a first in Australian banking, a 24/7 business banking app designed for the bank’s business customers.

The miBanker app has been designed to help users grow and manage their businesses, offering a variety of features to target business-related issues.

Users are able to receive business news, updates from Australian and overseas stock markets, Bendigo Bank-specific economic updates, video tips on business strategies and marketing tools, and invitations to events and seminars.

Arguably most useful for Bendigo business banking customers, is the ability to contact their relationship manager in real time. Customers are able to get feedback on issues most important to them, while Regular Customer Pulse questions allows customers to inform the bank of their inquiries and issues throughout the year.

mibanker“miBanker is an innovation in banking relationship management, but it’s bigger than that. Our business customers Australia-wide can track how Bendigo Bank is supporting their community, while also having access to their banking,” Bendigo Bank Managing Director Mike Hirst said.

“We’re interested in creating technologies, but not just for the sake of innovation. We deliberately set out to listen to what our customers need and develop solutions accordingly.’’

Available to download from the App Store or Google Play store, miBanker has been designed to work on iOS operating systems version 6.0 or later on Apple iPhones and iPad. Android phones and tablets using operating system versions 4.0 or later will also be able to use the app.

The app hasn’t been designed to work with Windows or Blackberry mobile devices, so those users may have to wait for a future upgrade.

A ‘Select your interests’ list has been included in the app’s Profile settings, which allows users to decide which specific areas of content they wish to receive notifications from.

Also of note, customers are able to access miBanker on multiple devices using the same mobile number for registration.

“Our objective was to use mobile technology to enable Bendigo Bank to help their business customers more easily access information that is relevant to their industry and their company position, whether the customer is a start-up in fashion or 30 years in manufacturing,” bhiveGROUP’s Founding Partner and co-creator of the miBanker app Michael Wall said.

“miBanker brings the business banker closer to their customers, while at the same time allowing the business customer to stay in control of the relationship.”
