CDAA National Employer of the Year nominations now open
The Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA) is calling on organisations that have shown commitment in career development opportunities in the workplace to apply for the Inaugural CDAA 2009 National Employer of the Year Awards.
The Awards recognises employers who make career development for their staff a priority through initiatives such as mentoring, creating work/life balance and hiring qualified career development practitioners.
According to Peter Carey, national president of the CDAA, the Awards not only recognise employer initiatives but also set new standards for career development in the workforce.
“The CDAA 2009 National Employer of the Year Awards will undoubtedly set new standards of excellence for businesses ready or willing to engage in career development programs.”
He believes that with such tough financial times ahead, it has never been more important for employers to focus on career development opportunities.
“In today’s tough economic and labour market conditions, career development as a means to stabilise and grow business has never been more important.”
The Awards will be presented at the 2009 National Career Conference in Melbourne, from 15 to 17 of April, bringing together over 500 people, under the theme “Get Smart – Career Development value adds for people and business.”
