Consumer & business confidence encouraging: Emerson
Small Business Minister Craig Emerson said it is encouraging to see a spike in business and consumer confidence.
Emerson told ABC TV on Thursday that confidence is returning to the Australian economy.
“It’s good for our future because it means people are more likely to spend,” he said.
“That’s what we need at this stage, for people to be spending more in shops and investing.”
Dr Emerson attributed the improvement in the Australian economy to the Government’s economic stimulus packages and the “great attitude” of local businesses.
