Customer-oriented businesses named as WA Telstra Business Awards finalists

Analysis of the 14 leading Western Australian businesses named as finalists in the 2011 Telstra Business Awards shows high customer service levels sit at the core of their business success.

According to Telstra, analysis of the finalists’ business performance showed a good understanding of customer needs and an ability to deliver top customer service.

Telstra found that over 50% of the finalists’ new business over the past 12 months came from existing customers or referrals from those customers. Additionally, More than half of the finalists specifically trained staff in the past year to improve customer service skills.

“The best Western Australian finalists clearly have a commitment to providing top customer service that underpins their business growth,” Telstra Business Group Managing Director and Telstra Business Awards Ambassador Deena Shiff said.

Analysis also found 95% of customers are satisfied with the finalists’ services, and 13 of the 14 finalists reported the majority of their staff are aware the company’s best customers.

Face-to-face feedback, surveys, newsletters, packages for new customers and rewards were among the most common methods Western Australian finalists used to develop and nurture customer relationships.

Winners of the Telstra Western Australian Business Awards will be announced at the Hyatt Regency Perth on 19 July.
