Government to take action on telco complaints
The government has vowed to crack down on telcos following a report by the Telecommunications Industry Ombusdman which found a 54 percent rise in the number of complaints against telcos.
Communications Minister Stephen Conroy told the Ten network that the report is “an absolute shocker.”
The report found that there were 230,000 complaints from consumers and small businesses against telcos last financial year, with mobile complaints up 79 percent.
Senator Conroy has threatened telecommunications companies with a legislative crackdown unless they dramatically improve their customer service.
”We will sit down with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman and work out what we need to do to crack down on the companies who continue to mistreat their consumers,” he said.

Worse still, Small Business may have wasted something like 5 years complaining to the telco\’s to rack up these sizeable stats.
Really seems to be very little value there.
