Govt. helps small business boost online presence

The Federal Government today announced a $10 million Small Business Online program, designed to help small businesses boost their online presence.

The initiative announced by Small Business Minister Dr Craig Emerson, will give internet training service providers the chance to apply for grants of between $50,000 and $500,000 to deliver training and mentoring services to help small businesses become internet savvy.

Dr Emerson said the program will “help small businesses to enhance their web presence and develop their e-business potential.”

Applicants can include industry associations, professional and business organisations, educational institutions and business enterprise centres. The program will run until June 2011.

Applicants must complete an application form available from the AusIndustry hotline on 13 28 46. Applications close 5pm (AEST) on 25 September 2009.
