All LinkedIn users will now have free access to its Social Selling Index (SSI) following an announcement today. The index was previously only available to those who purchased the LinkedIn Sales Navigator license.
The unique tool ranks both a company’s and individual’s efforts on LinkedIn by measuring their activity across four categories including; professional brand, finding people, engaging with insights, and building relationships – to generate a score out of 100.
It is anticipated that the SSI will provide greater visibility into social selling activities and will uncover opportunities for those growing a business, ranking them against peers and competitors.
Mark Dick, head of LinkedIn Sales Solutions, Australia & New Zealand said, “Leveraging social media for business development and sales is now well established with the rise of ‘social selling’. We are now providing free access to a data-driven tool that empowers professionals with the knowledge of where they stand and helps them set clear goals to advance their social selling efforts.”
The score determines how effective a member is at growing their professional identity and network and how effective they are at engaging other members.
