New workshop for women entrepreneurs

Forget networking and business card exchanges. Brisbane businesswomen are aiming for wealth, business success, personal fulfillment and contribution, says business leadership expert Mia Munro.

She cites a global entrepreneur research study that found the number of female entrepreneurs increased from 48 percent to 71 percent in 2008. Her organisation, Entrepreneurial Women in Action (EW), is working to further these figures. EW provides an exclusive international forum for successful female entrepreneurs to join with like-minded peers and further develop their business acumen.

It is now presenting a new format in workshops on Wednesday 25 March 2008 at Rydges South Bank, where aspiring entrepreneurial businesswomen can learn business and leadership development from the experts.

The workshops, called Sisters In Sync (SIS), have a ‘lunch with an entrepreneur’ format, and are set to put education and leadership in the spotlight for city businesswomen. Munro says: “We do more than offer women the opportunity to feel good for a few hours, and then return to their offices without focus and vision. The (Sisters in Sync) SIS series enables women to invoke change as a leader within their businesses through questioning, challenging and implementing strategies the experts use.

“My vision is to challenge and change the platform of how women entrepreneurs interact, and enable more women to reach heightened levels of success within their businesses.”
