Optus unveils seven NBN packages

Optus has joined the National Broadband Network fray, releasing the details of  seven consumer and home office packages to be available from November 21.

Under the existing NBN Co trial agreement, all Optus plans will be available on a monthly basis for both home phone and mobile plans.

According to Optus consumer fixed director Anthony Shiner, the NBN offers the opportunity for local consumers and businesses to receive a real choice for their broadband services.

“We’ve decided to offer NBN plans on a monthly basis so consumer and ‘home office’ customers can start benefiting from true competition right away, with a much richer online experience. This includes the new $39.99 broadband plan which is available to current Optus postpaid mobile customers on contract.”

Monthly plans will start from this amount for up to 40GB of data when combined with any Optus postpaid mobile plan from $19. A further three plans ranging from $59.99 to $79.99 all include the basic Social speed pack and the option to upgrade to Multimedia and Multimedia eXtreame speed packs depending on consumer needs.

The company will also be offering three NBN home phone bundled packages to combine broadband and home phone costs, starting from $64.94 for 120GB of data.

Small businesses are also included in the offer with Optus SMB NBN plans from early next year.

“As the NBN roll-out progresses, we’ll release a greater range of plans as well as more exciting broadband bundles that combine the latest Optus digital products such as Optus MeTV to help customers stay better connected and entertained.”
