Real life Fawlty Towers doing great business

Cremorne Point Manor is a bit of a real life Fawlty Towers.

It’s been a steep learning curve for the Freeman family but their hard work is paying off. Last year it won Most Improved Hotel of the Year and had its star rating increased from three to four stars.

New to the hospitality industry, the Freemans purchased a 3-star budget hotel in Sydney’s harbourside suburb of Cremorne Point. The family combined a variety of skills to undertake a complete refurbishment of the hotel, obtain an additional star and increase the return rate of guests to 80 percent.

The three generations of one family have quite literally learned by doing. The predictable comparions to Fawlty Towers didn’t take long, but the Freemans have proved themselves and are now running a very successful business.

The restored 19th Century federation style hotel is set in a quiet, leafy location surrounded by harbourside reserve. Guests enjoy the large upstairs balcony that overlooks Cremorne Point, Mosman Bay and Sydney Harbour to the east.
