Seminar helps new businesses ‘start out right’

If you are thinking of starting a new business and need some guidance, Small Business September 09 is the place to start.

The NSW Government initiative is a month-long event, with over 300 events hosted by 150 organisations designed to support small businesses.

A number of seminars will be held across NSW, designed with start-ups in mind, including “Starting Out Right” hosted by the Department of Industry and Investment, and “New to Business” hosted by the Australian Small Business Centre.

“Starting Out Right” is a free seminar which will cover off the basics when starting a business. With a dedicated panel of speakers from a variety of high profile organisations, topics include: Finding and keeping valuable customers and distributing products effectively (Australia Post), business tax information and obligations (Australian Taxation Office), easy tips for developing innovation and productivity (Cisco), getting the right insurance for your business (NRMA Business Insurance) and effective advertising and marketing (Sensis Yellow Pages).

“New to Business” is a free webinar designed for those new to running a business. The webinar will answer some burning questions start-ups may have including:
Business – is it for me? How do I find or refine a business idea? What is a business plan and do I need one?
