Win a website, SEO and social media makeover

Businesses are being invited to enter the ‘Save My Website’ competition, and go in the running to win a $25,000 package including new website design, site search engine optimisation (SEO) and social media management.

The Web Profits competition is designed to remind businesses of all sizes of the importance of a good website in the competitive online digital world.

Managing Director Paul Sprokkreeff said poor websites are a common problem for businesses, especially small businesses, and this means many are falling behind.

“The world is moving online. A lack of understanding about the internet and its intangible nature is unfortunately no longer a valid excuse, nor should it serve as a barrier to entry.”

The competition winner will be given access to marketing components small businesses typically don’t have the resources to implement properly. It has attracted entries from businesses in a range of industries already, including tourism, health, hospitality, not for profits and musicians.

Sprokkreeff said some common themes have emerged from the entries as to why businesses are struggling with their websites – including small budgets, too little time to properly develop a website and lack of understanding of the technical aspects of building an effective website.

“Having seen the number of entries that have already been submitted, there are some standout companies out there that really do need help,” he said, adding that a good website needs clear imagery, good copy writing, good search functionality, clear credibility and best practice online marketing conversion strategies.

The Save My Website competition is open until 31 October, and interested parties simply need to share a screenshot of their business website, explain why it needs saving, and collate as many votes as possible.

The entry with the highest number of votes wins a $25,000 major prize from Web Profits. The five runner-ups will receive an online training pack SEO Secrets valued at $497 each.
