At Heal.Thy Self Co. in Melbourne’s Yarraville neighbourhood owners Electra Tomasino and Dylan Davies believe that people thrive when they consume a diet based on whole foods straight from the earth. Her store offers plant-based, free range, organic, ethical and sustainable produce and can cater to almost anyone with wide-dietary requirements.

“We’re focused on seasonal produce and serving whole foods including unprocessed, unrefined, sugar free and natural foods that make you feel good.” says Electra.

With a constantly evolving menu packed with smoothies, juices, meals and snacks, Electra keeps a close eye on what’s coming in, what’s fresh, and what she needs to order. This is where her point-of-sale comes in handy—Heal.Thy Self Co runs on Square Register, the free cloud-based POS app that was developed by San Francisco-based payments technology company Square.

“When we opened our business there was no tangible data to keep track of all produce. Analytics from Square Dashboard has really help us determine what we should keep on the menu. We’re always keen to trial new ingredients in juices and the reporting we get each day lets us keeps track of how popular it is with the locals.”

Understanding the reporting side of a business is key to making better decisions which can make work easier. Square gives Electra the ability to deep dive into what’s selling and what’s not.

Electra added, “Also knowing what trends and sells best has definitely made my ordering and planning much easier with wholesalers. We don’t have to run into another organic cafe when we’re low on stock, instead we’ve been able to save on money and order more efficiently.”
