Fast food chain Carl’s Jr. has big plans for Australia

Global fast food chain Carl’s Jr. has made sales records in New Zealand, opening eight stores in the past 18 months. Now they’ve set their sights on Australia.

Carl’s Jr. revealed its goals of opening 300 Australian stores in the next 10 to 15 years. With 70 years in the fast food industry, Carl’s Jr. has grown from a one hot dog cart in Los Angeles to 1,349 restaurants all around the world.

They are now seeking bold, enthusiastic entrepreneurial franchise partners to develop and operate franchises in Australia.

In a meeting with potential franchise partners, CEO of CKE Restaurants (parent company) Andy Puzder, commented on the attractive Australian market: “Our research shows that the strong economy here, combined with our positioning and premium food offering, complement what we’ve seen in New Zealand.”

“The quick service restaurant sector here is growing rapidly,” Puzder continued. “We also believe that there’s a real appetite for Carl’s Jr. amongst not only our target 18 to 34 year old male audience, or as we call them, ‘young hungry guys,’ but also everyone in Australia who aspires to be young.”

It is also estimated that the Carl’s Jr. expansion could create over 7,500 jobs in Australia.
