CommBank announces return of Small Business Forums

Commonwealth Bank has announced the return of the free Small Business Forums to help local SMBs grow through effective implementation of technology.

A recent study of 1000 small to medium-sized business across Australia, conducted by Commonwealth Bank, revealed that 75 percent of businesses believe keeping up with the latest technologies will be the difference between success or failure over the next five years.

The research also found that 65 per cent of small businesses believe there’s not enough support to help them take advantage of technology.

Following these results, Commonwealth Bank is offering small businesses access to some of Australia’s leading business experts.

Adam Bennett, Commonwealth Bank Executive General Manager of Local Business Banking, said the Small Business Forums will provide local businesses with practical tools to help them grow their bottom line.

“We know many small businesses struggle to keep pace with technological changes and need support to help them take advantage of the opportunities new technologies present to their business,” he said.

“That’s why this year’s Forums are focused on giving local businesses the practical tools and advice they need to start thinking more innovatively, take advantage of the ever-changing technology landscape and ultimately grow their business.”

According to innovation psychologist, Dr. Amantha Imber, the ability to generate breakthrough ideas to solve everyday business challenges and take advantage of opportunities is what leads to successful growth.

“Small businesses have distinct advantages over big businesses when it comes to achieving growth through innovation, and the biggest is the ability to take great ideas to market quickly and efficiently. I’ll give local Forum attendees tips on the tools and skills they need to introduce innovation into their business,” she said.

The Small Business Forums will be hosted by independent small business expert and financial commentator, Peter Switzer. He will be joined by Dr. Imber, who will deliver a case study-led keynote on how local businesses can outsmart their competitors with the latest in innovative thinking and digital technologies.

Local businesses will learn about:

  • How they can transform their business through highly inventive and intelligent thinking
  • Real life examples of how businesses are using technology in innovative and effective ways
  • The latest practical tools needed to drive breakthrough business growth
  • The skills needed to outthink competitors

The Forums will be held at 12 different locations across Australia and all local businesses are free to attend.
