As part of its attempts to make the platform more business-friendly, Pinterest has announced it’s launching a range of tools and resources geared toward company use, as well as the ability for businesses to create accounts. 

Previously, businesses weren’t able to set up a Pinterest account under their trading name, instead having to provide a first and last name for a profile.

Now, after specifying their organisation’s name, business owners will be taken through a new user flow that will help them to verify their website and better integrate the Pin It button, Follow button, Profile widget or Board widget to improve engagement with pinners and encourage traffic back to the business’ website.

Businesses with existing Pinterest accounts will be able to convert theirs into the new format, by following some simple steps found here.

The changes will also give businesses better access to upcoming features as well as to case studies from companies like Jetsetter, Allrecipes and Etsy, revealing how these businesses are successfully using Pinterest to increase customer reach, drive traffic to their sites, and engage their strongest advocates.

Business users will also have access to a new set of best practices as well as guides on how to use the Pinterest brand in marketing materials.
