Entrepreneurs deliver US bargains to local consumers via new site

A new Australian website is bringing the best American merchandise bargains to local shoppers keen to take advantage of the strong dollar.

Set-up by local entrepreneurs James Harris and Ei Sabai Nyo, Online Shopping USA delivers the best deals from the US to Australian shoppers in one place, to save them from hunting around various sites for bargains.

“Issues of taxes, delivery times, shipping costs and returns policies are all detailed on the site making it a one-stop shop so our shoppers will have a great online shopping experience,” Harris said.

The site focuses more on carefully chosen handpicked items than on volume, with categories ranging from men’s and women’s fashion to books, toys, DVDs, beauty and electronics.

“You’ll also notice that our curated site makes for a better selection of merchandise and our editors take the time and effort to make sure products are more competitively priced than Australian retailers” Harris added.

The sites’ editors say they spend a great deal of time searching hundreds of US stores and through thousands of products to deliver the best bargains from a range of shops. They focus on finding quality products, speedy delivery and efficient service.

Online Shopping USA targets a predominantly Australian female shopper with disposable income, who’s prepared to shop for a bargain and/or branded products that are not readily available in Australia.

According to Harris, most of these shoppers aren’t necessarily first time online shoppers, but may not have experienced shopping overseas or be familiar with shipping costs or the benefits of consolidating orders to reduce delivery costs.
